We decided to make a skirt out of one of my husbands old button up shirts. We cut the bottom of the shirt off right below the pocket. Then the pleated were sewn in, we were lucky that we did not have to add any addition fabric, but if we did it would have been easy to add and hide in a pleat. The top black back is some t-shirt that was left over from another project. We did end up having to sew the buttons closed due to a pucker issue. That did not seem to bother the shirt at all except it is a slip on skirt now.
